Tiktok influencer jailed for life alongside her mother

A 24-year-old TikTok influencer and her mother have received life sentences for a double murder conviction.

Mahek Bukhari and her mother, Ansreen Bukhari, orchestrated a plan to silence Ansreen’s lover, Saqib Hussain, who had threatened to expose their affair by releasing their sex tape.

The court has now sentenced both of them to life imprisonment, with Mahek receiving a minimum term of 31 years and eight months,

Meanwhile, Ansreen has received a minimum term of 26 years and nine months.

Tragically, unidentified individuals wearing balaclavas deliberately forced their Skoda off the A46 dual carriageway near Leicester on February 11 of the previous year, resulting in a high-speed collision that claimed the lives of Saqib Hussain and his friend Hashim Ijazuddin, both 21.

The relationship between Ansreen and Saqib initially began online in 2019, through the video app Azar.

They eventually exchanged contact information and started conversing daily, although their relationship experienced several ups and downs, lasting approximately three years.

In an attempt to assist her mother, Mahek sought the help of her friend, a car mechanic named Rekan Karwan.

Together, they devised a plan to lure Saqib into a meeting by promising to hand over £3,000, the amount he had claimed to have spent on Ansreen during their relationship.

Mahek Bukhari was a rising TikTok sensation who hailed from Stoke-on-Trent.

She had aspirations of building a career in social media after discontinuing her university studies

With nearly 129,000 followers, she earned income through brand endorsements and frequently attended parties and product launch events across the United Kingdom.

She often proudly shared her close bond with her mother, Ansreen, who enthusiastically participated in her social media videos.

 However, their lives took a dark turn due to a doomed affair, leading to deception, extortion, and ultimately, murder.
