Tottenham beat Luton to top Premier League table

Tottenham Hotspur ascended to the summit of the Premier League standings with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Luton Town on Saturday, a match in which they played the entire second half with only 10 players.

The visitors faced adversity in added time during the first half as Yves Bissouma received his marching orders with a second yellow card, penalized for simulation just outside the Luton penalty area.

Dutch defender Micky van de Ven scored the only goal of the match in the 52nd minute by converting a first-time shot after receiving a precise pass from James Maddison.

Tottenham maintain an undefeated start to the season after eight league fixtures, boasting of a two-point lead over Manchester City and a three-point advantage over Arsenal, ahead of their highly-anticipated showdown on Sunday.

In contrast, Luton who missed several clear-cut opportunities to salvage something from the match, remain with a tally of four points after succumbing to their sixth league defeat of the season.

Harry Kane criticizes Tottenham weeks after joining Bayern Munich

England’s captain Harry Kane subtly criticized his former team Tottenham Hotspur questioning the mentality at the North London club weeks after joining Bayern Munich.

Kane, who moved to Bayern for £100 million this summer claimed that at Tottenham, it wasn’t considered a disaster if they went a few games without a win, a contrast to Bayern Munich’s relentless pursuit of victory.

“We wanted to win at Spurs, but if you went a couple of games without winning it wasn’t a disaster. At Bayern you have to win every game,” he said.
