Why motorists will witness traffic at Sachang’wan along Nakuru-Eldoret Highway

Kenya Forest Service has announced they will be removing eucalyptus trees along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway at Sachang’wan, Baringo County causing traffic.

In a statement on social media, the forestry organisation noted there would be traffic disruption during this exercise.

“Kenya Forest Service in collaboration with Baringo County, Kenya Power and Ministry of Roads and Transport, intends to remove eucalyptus trees along Nakuru-Eldoret Highway at Sachang’wan, Koibatek, Baringo County.

“This is because the trees have been assessed and deemed to be hanging dangerously and are at risk of falling on the highway due to the ongoing heavy rainfalls,” read part of their statement.

However, to manage traffic disruption along the busy highway, Kenya Forest Service officers will be working in collaboration with the National Police Service.

Consequently, motorists are advised to approach the area with caution and report any trees in danger of falling.
