Tragedy has struck a village in Tana River County after four children drowned while swimming.
The four children, all pupils of Haroresa Primary School, drowned while swimming at around 5:30 pm on Tuesday, December 24.
A search and rescue team was immediately mounted after the sad news, leading to the retrieval of two children, a girl aged 12 years and a boy aged 10 years.
“The other two children are still missing and efforts to recover their bodies are in progress,” a report filed at Waldena Police Station on Wednesday, December 25 morning says.
Galledyertu Sub-County Police Commander and the sub-county’s Criminal Investigation Officer have proceeded to the scene to gather more information.
