Tragedy in Mwingi as twins burnt beyond recognition in house fire

A family in Ngoo village, Mwingi Central, is in distress after their one year and nine months twins perished in an inferno on Tuesday, October 15.

The boys were reportedly left home by their mother who rushed to buy food in a nearby shop before she was informed that her bedroom was in flames.

Upon getting back, she found neighbours trying to put out the fire and upon asking on the whereabouts of her children, she was told they were burnt in the raging fire.

Although the court of fire is yet to be determined, the family suspects foulplay.

Mutati Kavengi, the father of the boys who works in Nairobi could not come to terms that his children had been burnt beyond recognition.

Bernard Musili, the area senior assistant chief, says the bodies were removed to Mwingi Level 4 Hospital mortuary as investigations on the cause of fire begins in earnest.
