A tragic road accident along the Butula-Bumala Road in Busia County claimed two lives on Saturday morning.
Including a five-year-old girl. The collision, involving a private vehicle and a bodaboda, occurred in the Mashinani area of Murumba.
According to police reports, the driver of the speeding vehicle lost control while navigating a corner, leading to a head-on collision with the bodaboda rider and his young passenger.
The impact was devastating, and both the rider and the child lost their lives instantly.
The police report revealed that the driver sustained minor chest injuries and multiple cuts on both hands, while a 36-year-old female passenger in the vehicle suffered serious head and chest injuries.
Emergency responders quickly rushed the injured to Busia County and Referral Hospital for medical attention.
Authorities documented the accident scene before transferring the victims’ bodies to Same Day Classmate Funeral Parlor, where postmortems will be conducted.
The involved vehicles were towed to Murumba Police Post for further inspection as investigations continue.
