Trump Signs Executive Order banning Transgender Women from Female Sports

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump signed the “No Men in Women’s Sports Executive Order,” barring transgender women and girls from competing in female sports. This marks his fourth executive order impacting transgender individuals since taking office on January 20.

“The radical left has launched a campaign to erase biological sex and replace it with militant transgender ideology,” Trump declared at the White House, flanked by women and girls. “With this executive order, the war on women’s sports is over.”

Trump cited several instances of what he called “men claiming to be girls” and taking victories from female athletes. He also falsely claimed that Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, who faced gender scrutiny at the Paris Olympics in August, was assigned male at birth.

Ahead of the signing, White House officials told reporters that while news headlines might focus on the term “transgender,” the order “is not about that.” Instead, they emphasized that its goal is to protect fair and safe athletic opportunities for women.
