TV47 Country Ride show wins award for its excellent performance

Cape Media’s TV47 Country Ride show has been awarded in the 2023 (Kenyan Men Empowerment Network (KEMEN) Awards for its excellent performance.

The TV47 Country Ride show runs every Sunday from 3.00pm to 5.30 pm on TV47.

The show was recognized for its role in highlighting the silent struggles faced by men in society.

“Our focus on this theme, ‘The Silent Struggles: Men in the Moments of Solitude’, sheds light on the often unspoken challenges that men endure, particularly in moments of isolation.

“This exploration resonated so deeply that it earned us a prestigious nomination as the Men’s Forum of the Year 2023,” said the show producer Simon Dedan during the KEMEN awards ceremony on Friday, December 15.

Dedan explained that a segment of the show, ‘Fathers in Isolation’, has been highlighting heartfelt discussions that uncover difficulties faced by fathers and men in solitude.

For instance, the show seeks to uncover unvoiced battles that men endure. 

The pivotal hosting by Mwenda Thuranira, the distinguished founder and CEO of Myspace Properties, added invaluable insight, bringing forth his extensive business experience gleaned from various corners of the globe.

Notably, Thuranira has been to the USA, Dubai, with a profound understanding of Kenya, where he has resided for the past 14 years. 

His perspective enriched discussions during the show on TV47, offering a multifaceted understanding of the struggles faced by men.

“The raw authenticity of our discussions struck a chord with our audience, manifesting in an overwhelming response of numerous calls and messages.

“Men reached out, bravely sharing their stories of struggle, some even breaking down emotionally during live calls. 

“This outpouring of vulnerability and honesty served as a catalyst, propelling us to advocate passionately for men’s mental wellness,” said Dedan.

The Country Ride show has a unique approach, of blending the power of country music with heartfelt men’s talk, that has created a safe space for conversations that are often suppressed or overlooked. 

“This fusion not only resonated with our audience but also served as a platform for initiating vital dialogues about men’s mental health,” he added.

It was the amalgamation of these efforts—compassionate storytelling, genuine dialogue, and an unwavering commitment to fostering men’s mental wellness—that earned the TV47 show such a prestigious honor of being named in the Men’s Forum of the Year 2023.

This recognition further emboldens TV47’s dedication to continuing with such crucial conversations and advocating for the mental well-being of men in society.
