TV47 the fastest-growing station in Kenya has once again been honored with the prestigious Best Use of ICT in Media award at a ceremony held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
The event was organized by the ICT Authority of Kenya (ICTAK), which recognizes TV47’s exceptional use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in its operations.
In addition, TV47 has been lauded for its innovative approach in engaging audiences, excelling across diverse areas, including human interest stories and the creative use of technology for content distribution.
Additionally, Mt. Kenya University shone at the awards, clinching several accolades, including Best Company in ICT for Education. The university’s Joseph K. Mworia was also honored as ICT Manager of the Year.
Known for its commitment to equipping students with industry-ready skills, Mt. Kenya University continues to be a leader in preparing learners for the competitive job market.
The ICT Value Awards, featuring 30 categories, this year celebrated the brightest achievements in the ICT sector, promoting innovation and professional excellence.
During his speech, Professor Selasio Kiura, chairperson of the organizing committee, stressed the importance of acknowledging all organizations and individuals contributing to technological advancements.
In his address, Stanley Kamanguya, CEO of the ICT Authority, underscored the urgency of empowering Kenyans digitally to create job opportunities and reduce the digital divide across different demographics.
With Kenya’s unemployment rate currently at 5.6%, Kamanguya highlighted how enhancing digital literacy is critical in unlocking economic opportunities, especially for the youth.
Other notable awards included Best Use of ICT in County Assembly, which went to Nakuru County, and Best Use of ICT in National Government & National Vision awarded to Principal Secretary for Interior Security Raymond Omollo.
South Mugirango was also recognized for Best Use of ICT in Constituencies.
