TV47 has been celebrated with multiple awards for its excellent reporting on health issues during the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Alliance Kenya Media Awards.
‘The Home of Untold Stories’ scooped three awards during the NCD Alliance Kenya Media Awards gala that took place Thursday, December 12 evening at the Sarova Panafric Hotel in Nairobi.
TV47 reporters Elizabeth Atieno Ochieng, Violet Auma and Sostine Wanji were awarded 1st runner-up in different award categories.
Elizabeth, who bagged the ‘Journalist of the Year’ award at the Annual Journalism Excellence Awards (AJEA) in May this year, was the first runners up in the ‘Best Health Information’ category with her story – Sweatless Survival.
Violet Auma emerged the 1st runner-up for the ‘Best Lived Experience Content’ for her story on bipolar where she featured one Pauline Mudavi, a woman in Kakamega who shared her life experience as a bipolar patient.
TV47’s Bungoma correspondent Sostine Wanji won the 1st runner-up in the best ‘Non Communicable Diseases ( NCDs cover story)’ category with his piece, ‘Walezi wa ugonjwa wa kupooza’.
The awards recognised journalists exceptional contributions and achievements in journalism which have significantly impacted the NCD space.
