Kenyan musician Esther Akoth – popularly known by her stage name Akothee – recently tied the know with his Swiss boyfriend in a lavish wedding at the Windsor Golf Hotel.
The who is who in Kenya’s entertainment industry as well as high profile politicians and Cabinet Secretaries attended the wedding.
But comedian Eddie Butita set tongues wagging when he made grand entrance. While his peers came in sleek cars, Butita landed at the Windsor Hotel in a chopper, accompanied by a beautiful lady Zandia.
According to the current market waves, the average cost of hiring a chopper in Kenya is between Ksh150,000 and 170,000 per hour for a 3pax helicopter with the price going up to 250,000 for higher capacity choppers.
Butita flew from Wilson Airport to Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club – a distance of about 17 km which takes less than an hour to fly.
He has explained why he decided to take a chopper to Akothee’s wedding.
