Two arrested in Huruma for attempting to bribe DCI officers with KSh50,000

Two people have been arrested in Huruma, Nairobi, after they reportedly tried to bribe DCI officers.

Jama Hirbo and Tasu Hirbo were arrested when they tried to bribe the officers from the Transnational Organised Crime Unit domiciled at the DCI Headquarters, in order to secure the release of human trafficking victims.

The DCI says that Jama Hirbo and Tasu Hirbo “were caught red-handed in Huruma area Nairobi County, trying to grease the palms of the officers to secure the release of human trafficking victims held at Isinya Police Station in Kajiado County.”

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Jama and Tasu were caught red-handed trying to give the said officers KSh50,000 for the release of the victims currently held at Isinya Police Station in Kajiado County.

The suspects are currently in custody at Muthaiga Police Station, with the bribe money seized as exhibit.
