DCI officer among two individuals stabbed by gang members in Kisumu

DCI officers in Kisumu West sub-county are investigating suspected gang members connected to the death of two people among them a DCI officer

In a report, the two, including a DCI officer were stabbed to death in the Riat area of Kisumu sub-county on Monday night 27 February.

The two were attacked by the same gang of four members but on different occasions at around 11 pm as they were heading home.

In the first incident, the victim met his demise after he was waylaid by the gang who were riding on motorbikes and stabbed him severally.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOORTH)

The officer killed was a 42-year-old male who was based in Nairobi.

Dago sub-location assistant Chief Mark Odhiambo told citizen Tv that both the victims showed no signs of being robbed but they had sustained several stab wounds in their bodies.

Investigations are ongoing as a manhunt for the gang members has been announced.
