Two people escaped death by a whisker when the vehicle they were travelling in was swept by flood waters on Sekenani-Narok Road.
The two people were trying to cross a flooded culvert section of the road on Wednesday, May 22 afternoon when the vehicle was overpowered by raging waters near Esupetai area in Olenkuluo, Narok South.
Members of the public who saw the incident rushed to the scene and rescued the two occupants of the vehicle.
By the time of reporting this incident, the vehicle was still submerged in the water awaiting rescue and towing services when the water subsides.
Narok South Deputy County Commissioner Flex Kisalu and the county disaster committee arrived at the scene immediately to coordinate rescue exercise.
“Movement of vehicles was temporarily restricted until the reduction of water level… Residents and motorist have been urged to avoid flooded road sections during this rainy season,” a police report says.
