Two sets of twins from Kirimunge Day School wow villagers after shining in 2023 KCSE

Two sets of twins from Kirimunge Day School in Kirinyaga Central Sub-County have wowed the village and the community after passing with flying colours in the 2023 KCSE exams.

Identical twins Davis Njoka and Dennis Muthii scored A (minus) in the just released national examination results, while fraternal girl twins Alice Wangui and Ann Wanjiku scored B (plain).

Njoka and Muthii attended the day secondary school which is kilometres away from their home and managed to surmount the challenges to get A minus of 79 and 76 points respectively.

Speaking at their home in Kiaga, the identical twins said that they were disappointed when they joined the day school after their parents were unable to enroll them to Kerugoya Boys and Kianyaga Boys respectively having attained over 350 marks in their KCPE exams.

Challenges

The two said that they have gone through a lot of challenges with frequently being sent home due to lack of school fees but have been doing their best to study.

Njoka and Muthii said that they have been studying and revising together and competing on research and learning and have been getting the same grades of B plain, B plus and A minus in consecutive exams.

The two said that they were almost giving up after they failed to join their secondary schools of their choices but with advice from teachers and their aunt, they were able to settle and achieve the best.

Njoka is now seeking to join the university and study law in order to help solve the increasing number of land injustices in his area. On the other hand, Muthii wants to study chemical engineering and help in research on agricultural and medical products.

Girl twins shine in KCSE

Alice Wangui and Ann Wanjiku, who are fraternal twins, are celebrating attaining a mean grade of B plain having also attended Kirimunge Secondary School. Both scored B (Plain) in the just-released KCSE results.

The two girls had also attained the grades of above 300 marks in KCPE but due to the prevailing economic conditions, they were enrolled to the day school.

The two sets of twins say that despite going through the challenges of being rained on they have worked hard and surmounted the challenges and performed well.
