Uasin Gishu deputy governor John Barorot has resigned over alleged frustrations in the county government.
The deputy governor announced his resignation on Monday August 19, 2024 during a meeting with Uasin Gishu county officials at a hotel in Eldoret.
His resignation comes amid speculation over a poor working relationship with governor Jonathan Bii.
However, speaking shortly after Barorot’s resignation, governor Bii noted that he had a good working relationship with his deputy, dismissing allegations of frustrations in the county government.
According to the Uasin Gishu governor, Barorot resigned after getting another job with an international company.
His resignation comes barely four days after he dismissed claims of quitting office.
This was after Barorot on Thursday August 15, 2024 skipped President William Ruto’s event for conferring City status to Eldoret.
At that time, the deputy governor did not disclose the reason for not attending President Ruto’s event in Eldoret.
