Amani National Congress (ANC) Party members from Mt Kenya region have complained that the Kenya Kenya Kwanza Government has failed to fulfill its promise of inclusion and share of government positions.
Deputy Party leader Margret Tongai while speaking at Marvel Hotel in Embu town after a regional meeting, said the members in Mt Kenya region have not benefitted from 30 percent share as per the pre-election pact they had with United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
She said the members, after a consultative meeting, resolved to write a memorandum to the coalition leadership to seek their share.
Tongai further urged the party’s national leadership to convene meetings with members across the counties to strategise on 2027 General Election.
ANC Chair, Embu Branch, Stephen Njeru noted that the party will embark on a massive recruitment drive to enable it field candidates in all elective positions.
Njeru further said the members from Mt Kenya region will not relent in asking for their share of 30 percent in government, insisting that the party contributed a huge number of votes to the KK Government.
The ANC members said that region supports the candidature of Azimio leader Raila Odinga for the African Union Commission Chairperson position.
