United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party Secretary General Hassan Omar has called for further strengthening of bilateral ties between Kenya and China.
Omar is leading a party delegation to China at Great Hall to members of the China-Africa Friendship Group of CPPCC led by their Vice Chairman Mu Hong and leaders of Chinese Peoples Political Consultative Conference.
Omar said there is so much in common between the ruling Communist Party of China and UDA, citing inclusivity as a key pillar in both parties.
“We are particularly inspired by China’s consultative model, a platform where diverse voices come together in pursuit of common good. Kenya, too, is nurturing a culture of dialogue, consensus, and inclusion,” said Omar.

Hong, on his part, said China is committed to implementing all agreements reached with the Kenyan side ahead of President William Ruto’s visit to China soon.
He commended the UDA party for their warm hospitality and extended towards H.E Li Xi during his high-level visit in Kenya.
Hong highlighted the success of the last FOCAC summit, marking the beginning of the implementation of the agreements made during that visit. He expressed anticipation for President William Ruto’s upcoming State visit, noting it signifies the strong strategic partnership between China and Kenya, established since the onset of diplomatic relations.
He emphasized that President Ruto’s visit would be a milestone, being the first by an African leader since the summit. Mr Hong reiterated China’s commitment to supporting Kenya’s security and acknowledged Kenya’s support for the One China policy. He highlighted Kenya as a vibrant East African economy and the leading partner in the FOCAC framework.
Both the CPC and UDA, being ruling parties, aim to enhance trust and governance through party-to-party initiatives. Mr. Hong underscored the importance of ongoing communication and collaboration in poverty alleviation and modernization to elevate China-Kenya relations.
