Arsenal fans are protesting the UEFA League’s decision to allocate only 25,000 seats for each team participating in the Champions League finals scheduled for June at Wembley Stadium. This means that despite the stadium’s 90,000-seat capacity, fans from both sides will only occupy 50,000 seats.
According to UEFA, 10,000 seats out of the 90,000 will be available for general sale, while the remaining 25,000 will be reserved for dignitaries, commercial partners, and UEFA member associations.
Arsenal continues their UEFA Champions League campaign tonight, facing Bayern in the first leg of the quarter-finals at the Emirates Stadium. Despite the outcry from Arsenal fans online, it’s worth noting that other strong teams, including defending champions Manchester City, are also vying for the Champions League title.
Seating for the UEFA Champions League finals at Wembley Stadium
Finalists fan’s seats- 50,000
General sale- 10,000
Dignitaries, commercial partners, UEFA member associations- 30,000
Joke, this needs to change ASAP. Who makes these football decisions, certainly not supporters of the game, maybe pinstriped people,’ wrote one Gunners fan on X, formerly Twitter.
‘So almost half the tickets won’t go to fans of the two teams playing, absolutely shocking,’ said another.
‘So 36k will go to people who might not even support the club that’s in the final,’ commented one, pointing out the obvious.
‘Those Champions League final ticket prices are scandalous and so are the allocations typical Uefa,’ said one, drawing attention to how the cheapest ticket will be £60, with the most expensive at £210.
