British tech tycoon Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter, Hannah Lynch, are among the six people missing after a boat accident.
The accident involved the luxury yacht Bayesian which sank off the coast of Sicily in the central Mediterranean Sea.
In addition, the 56-meter vessel was carrying 22 people, including nationals from Britain, the United States, and Canada.

While 15 people were rescued, including a one-year-old British girl, the search for the missing continues into the night.
Among those missing are prominent British tech tycoon Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter.

Mike, known by certain societal establishments as “the British Bill Gates” cofounded the software company Autonomy which sold for $11bn.

Mike lost in Yacht capsizing
The yacht reportedly capsized after being struck by a heavy storm that caused waterspouts.
The waterspouts led the ship’s anchor to fail and the vessel to lose balance which caused the calamity.
Divers have identified a wreckage 50 meters below the surface, and rescue operations are ongoing.
Unfortunately, the body of one man has been recovered, though his nationality has not been confirmed.

The Yacht owner
The ownership of the Bayesian yacht is linked to Lynch’s wife, Angela Bacares who was also on the luxury cruise.
However, Angela Bacares has been confirmed as one of the rescued individuals from the wreckage of the yacht.

The incident has sparked a significant search effort, involving caving and rescue diving teams, to locate the missing people.
It is unclear if Mike and his daughter are alive or not due to the amount of wreckage present under the water.

Foutuetly, 15 people had managed to get to safely before the accident turned fatal.
According to survivor accounts, the trip had been organized by Mr. Lynch for his work colleagues.
