The US Embassy in Kenya has issued a travel advisory to its citizens over planned demonstrations on Tuesday and Thursday.
The Embassy says that “even protests that seem peaceful can turn violent at any moment”, urging its citizens to be cautious.
Accordingly, the embassy has advised US citizens to avoid crowds, keep doors locked and windows rolled up while in a vehicle and to always notify their friends and family of their whereabouts and safety status.
Further, US citizens in Kenya have been urged to review their personal security plans and carry a copy of their US passport with current Kenyan visa.
