US Journalist slams KAA Chairperson Caleb Kositany for spreading ‘fake’ article

The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) Chairperson Caleb Kositany is on the receiving end of online trolls after he shared a ‘fake’ Financial Times article.

It all started on Thursday, November 30 evening when Kositany shared a screenshot of an article titled: “US Federal Reserve opens investigation on Kenya’s 2014 $2.75Billion Euro Bond”.

In the article dated November 28, 2023 and purportedly penned by U.S journalist Demetri Sevastopulo, it was claimed that the Federal Reserve Bank of New York had opened an investigation on the $2.75Billion Euro Bond issued to Kenya in 2014.

But on Friday, December 1 morning, Demetri came out to dismiss the article as fake, confirming that he has not written such an piece.

Demetri admonished the former Soy MP, perhaps throwing shade that Kositany should concentrate on finding ways to run Kenyan airports instead of spreading fake news.

Kenyans on Twitter slam Kositany

Kenyans on X (formerly Twitter) have since lambasted Kositany for blatantly misinforming them.
