American rapper Snoop Dogg will participate in the final leg of the Olympic flame relay this Friday, ahead of the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Games.
The American pop icon is set to carry the ceremonial torch as the Olympic games kick off in Paris France.
Snoop Dogg will carry the flame through the streets of Saint-Denis, a diverse northern suburb of Paris that houses the Olympic Stadium and Aquatics Centre.

Snoop Dogg and other celebrities at the 2024 Olympics
Saint-Denis Mayor Mathieu Hanotin announced that other notable torchbearers will participate in the coveted ceremonial activities.
In the Mayor’s announcement, additional celebrities included French A-listers who will join American rapper Snoop during the once-in-a-lifetime event.
These celebrities include French actress Laetitia Casta, French rapper MC Solaar, and retired Ukrainian pole-vaulter Sergey Bubka.

The Olympic torch
The Olympic torch has been touring France for the past two months ahead of the anticipated games slotted to commence.
On Friday morning, it will pass through the athletes’ village as is tradition as the games draw nearer.
The athletes’ village spans Saint-Denis and neighboring Saint-Ouen, before reaching the Olympic Stadium and Aquatics Centre.

Snoop Dogg, 52, hails from greater Los Angeles which is the next official host city for the 2028 Olympic Games.
In addition to carrying the torch, Snoop Dogg will serve as an Olympic commentator for NBC during the 2024 Games.
