“Use your talents wisely, don’t perpetuate corruption” – EACC Chair Oginde tells professionals

EACC Chairperson David Oginde has urged professionals to use their talents wisely for the nation’s common good.

Speaking on Wednesday, February 26 while presiding over a graduation ceremony for Certified Forensic Fraud Examiners at KASNEB towers, Nairobi, Oginde observed that Kenya’s corruption menace was planned, budgeted for, and executed by unpatriotic professionals who were hell-bent on destroying the nation.

According to Oginde, professionals, especially lawyers, accountants, architects, and engineers, were at the heart of the theft of public resources instead of being beacons of hope in public service.

“You are the people we have been waiting for to help us eliminate corruption and make our country better than it is right now,” Oginde urged the graduands to uphold integrity with courage amid injustice.

Meanwhile, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) will today officially launch the Kenya Integrity Plan (2023-2028).

The plan, which banks on the partnership and governance initiative to promote ethics and integrity, is all geared towards the Commission’s fight against graft in the country.

The event will be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) starting 10 am.
