The lifeless body of a 27-year-old Vera Omondi Okoth was discovered dangling inside a bathroom at her parents’ home in Umiru village, Siaya County.
The heart-wrenching scene was unearthed by her own mother, Herine Okoth, at the unforgiving hour of 6:30 am, sending shockwaves through the close-knit community.
Herine’s despair tightened as she was seeking to wake her daughter from slumber, found the room empty.
A cruel fate awaited her in the adjacent bathroom, where Vera’s life had been extinguished with a rope, a silent witness to the depths of her anguish.
Kimaiyo said the motive of the incident is yet to be known as the deceased did not leave behind any suicide note.

No farewell letter adorned the tragedy, leaving investigators to grapple with the profound mystery of her desperate act.
