Vera Sidika, Kenyan socialite and mother of two, recently took to her Instagram stories to address rumors about her appearance, following widespread speculation that she had undergone cosmetic surgery on her face.
Setting the record straight, Vera explained that she had opted for temporary facial fillers rather than permanent surgical alterations.
According to her, these fillers are designed to dissolve naturally after nine months.
“By the way, I did not get cosmetic surgery on my face. Some people need exposure for real.
I got fillers. They are temporary. They last nine months and then dissolve.
And even with that, I have been doing research since September 2023 for just fillers. Not surgery. One full year of research before I went ahead,” Sidika said.
She urged netizens to educate themselves on cosmetic enhancements and avoid jumping to conclusions about such procedures.
Vera’s statement comes at a time when public concern over the safety of cosmetic procedures intensified, following the tragic news of Lucy Wambui’s alleged death after undergoing liposuction.
Wambui reportedly passed away at Body By Design, a well-known aesthetic clinic, sparking serious conversations about the regulation and safety of plastic surgery in Kenya.
According to reports, on the second day following the abdomen fat liposuction treatment, Wambui experienced breathing difficulties and chest pains.
The cause of death was identified as cardiorespiratory failure, and the postmortem revealed evidence of liposuction.
However Vera explained that she had heard a lot of rumors about the place where Lucy had her liposuction.
“Please do your research very well before trusting anyone with your life.
If you got to do it, go for board certified surgeons with a lot of experience.
I would even advise with over 15 years of experience, with thousands of surgeries performed successfully.” Sidika advised.
