Victor Osimhen threatens to sue Napoli after ’embarrassing’ TikTok video

A storm is brewing in Naples… Victor Osimhen’s agent is threatening action against Napoli after a video mocking the Nigeria striker was published on the club’s official social media.

The TikTok post, which was later deleted, was mocking Osimhen for missing a penalty in the weekend’s goalless draw against Bologna FC.

In the video, Osimhen is showed failing to score from the spot-kick, with a high-pitched voice saying, “gimme penalty please, gimme penalty please!”

The post has sparked a furious reaction from the striker’s agent – Roberto Calenda.

Not acceptable

“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted,” Calenda said late Tuesday, September 26 on X, formerly Twitter.

According to Calenda, the whole scenario is a “serious fact that causes very serious damage” to the 24-year-old Osimhen.

“[It] adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news. We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.”

Despite a poor start for Italian champions Napoli, Osimhen has still managed to score three goals in six appearances.

Last season, Osimhen became an icon in Naples after scoring 31 goals in all competitions, helping Napoli win their first league title since 1990.

His current deal with Napoli expires in June 2025.

In July 2020, Napoli signed Osimhen from Lille for a club record fee of 70 million euros plus another 10 million in bonuses.

Napoli are seventh in Serie A, seven points behind league leaders Inter Milan after winning just two of their opening five domestic matches.
