Khadija Kopa, the renowned Taarab singer and mother of Tanzanian songstress Zuchu, recently disclosed that she remains single and on the lookout for love, even 11 years after the passing of her husband.

She opened up about what she’s looking for in a partner. While plenty of guys show interest in her and shoot their shot, she finds they’re often too young for her.

She’s after someone with more life experience and maturity.

“Wanatokezea lakini sitaki vijana. Mungu hajanijalia kupata wanaume watu wazima, sijui kwa nini.”

Adding, “Mimi sitaki vijana kabisa. Wengi wamekuja ni vijana vijana, umri mdogo, wanapenda mserereko na umaarufu. Haya mambo siyataki, natafuta mtu mzima.“

Khadija’s ideal partner? Someone aged 50 or older. She believes older folks bring more wisdom to the table, which she values a lot.

Despite being single, Khadija’s heart remains devoted to her late husband, Jaffary Ally.

She often pays tribute to him during her performances, keeping his memory alive through her music.

Khadija Kopa’s Late Husband

Khadija Kopa’s late husband, Jaffary Ally, passed away back in 2013 after a brief illness in Bagamoyo.

She has always spoken so fondly of him, recalled his love and support and on several occasions eulogized his memory during her stage shows.

Additionally, she experienced the loss of her only son, Omar Kopa, a talented Taarab singer, a few years ago, further highlighting the challenges she has faced in her personal life.
