It was a heartwarming Valentine’s Day for 67 mothers who have given birth at the Kericho County Referral Hospital as Women Representative Beatrice Kemei paid them a courtesy visit, spreading love and support.
Kemei distributed care packages filled with essential baby items, including clothes, diapers, sanitary products, and foodstuffs, easing the burden for the mothers and their family. Among them was a 16-year-old girl from Ainamoi, whose case underscores the rising concern over teenage pregnancies in the county.
While the celebration of new life brought joy, the county MP acknowledged the challenges facing the hospital. As she revealed that the facility is overstretched, struggling with limited resources to accommodate the increasing number of deliveries.
Kemei pledged to advocate for better maternal healthcare, emphasizing the need for improved resources to support both mothers and healthcare providers.
