Speaking during the UDA Comrades Chapter – Eastern edition in Machakos Town, Omar said that what the ruling party has in the recent past been cleaning up UDA to rid it of what he termed as impurities.

“[We are stabilising] government and removing the arena of toxicity, removing ethnicity, removing the mediocrity and putting professors of political science and law to make sure we are a law-abiding country,” Omar, who is also an EALA MP, said.

During the forum, Omar encouraged young people to engage themselves in political parties as the easiest way of being closer to leadership, and also be leaders themselves. He reiterated that the future of the UDA Party lies in the youth.

“I want to assure you that we will continue with youth participation as a party. Age and ideology must go hand in hand,” he concluded.

The town hall in Machakos focused on topics around the importance of youth inclusion in leadership and governance, youth-empowerment interventions in livestock production value chains in Kenya, youth mainstreaming in devolved units, and digital economy and ICT/Technological transfer.

The panelists also provided engaging sessions on the export of labour/local opportunities to markets, jobs, and services, as well as access to education, skills development and training.
