We have not delivered but we are not sleeping, this is according to Arnold Maliba, the Head of Policy and Public Affairs at UDA.
“We are not where we promised Kenyans we will be, even from where we sit, we know.” Said Maliba.
He went on ahead to say “As a regime, we are not and we have not delivered what we promised Kenyans.“
Additionally, Maliba went on to share the core root of why the Kenya Kwanza Government was taking long to deliver on its campaign promises.
“We’ve also not been sleeping on the job and given the background against which we have worked, looking at how the year was, I will tell you the year was mad.” Maliba stated.

Maliba on where is Kenya headed?
Maliba however pointed out that, even though the Kenya Kwanza Government hasn’t delivered, it was on the right track.
In his assessment, Kenya has progressed and was not where it was a couple of years ago.
Maliba reminded Kenyans that agencies such as the World Bank had predicted the bankruptcy of the Kenyan economy by mid 2023.
He further started that, The Kenya Kwanza Government started its regime by averting the collapse of the Kenyan economy.
In his defense, the government was able to achieve stability by stabilizing the Kenyan shilling against the USA Dollar.
Consequently, a stable Kenyan shilling ensured the economy would survive and resuscitate.
Why is it taking long for government to deliver?

Azimio Protest?
After taking the reigns of government, Maliba highlighted that their first year was painted by Protests.
One such protest was the Azimio led protest, which termed the Kenya Kwanza Government as illegitimate.
In his assessment, Maliba highlighted that a better part of their effort was taken away in managing and addressing the protests.
Not to complain of his work tools, “A country is not an individual personal business to be run on one’s personal conditions.” Maliba said.
This required that the Kenya Kwanza government rethink its engagement with he the defacto opposition at the time, Azimio.
Consequently, the difference then and now is that Azimio seems to have joined government after several of its key members assumed Cabinet secretary positions.
Speaking to George Maringa on Power And Politics, Maliba stated that Kenyans needed to talk to one another and not at one another.
