In what seems like the opposition finally accepting defeat, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has “recognised” President William Ruto.
Kalonzo – in a funeral service on Saturday, September 2 in Voi – lauded President Ruto for his commitment to the Bipartisan Talks.
“We congratulate the President’s for putting his foot down and supporting the continuation of the talks,” Kalonzo, who co-chairs the National Dialogue Committee, said.
For this reason, Kalonzo says that President Ruto has shown maturity and statesmanship, unlike his deputy Rigathi Gachagua who has endlessly talked ill of the talks.
“Because of his [President Ruto] stand, we recognise him and we will wait for the next time because who knows? God’s plans may be with us next,” Kalonzo – who leads Azimio-One Kenya team in the talks – added.
The talks are meant to resolve the post-2022 General Election crisis that has seen the opposition lead its supporters in staging anti-government demonstrations across the country.
