Mugithi artist Kareh B (real name Mary Gioche) is still mourning her son Joseph Mwadalo who passed away in April this year.
In a heartfelt social media post today (Thursday), Kareh B shared a photo where her son, whom they fondly referred to as Joe, was baptised.
“You were very excited about this particular day, I remember you asked so many questions so that you could understand what it meant, (baptism).
“And when you did, you agreed…..to be baptised. Joe Dulo we still don’t know how to live without you,” she wrote.
Kareh B’s son Joe Mwadulo perished in a road accident on April 2, 2024 as he was travelling home for the school holidays.
He was a Form Four student at Chavakali Boys High School in Vihiga County. Joe, among dozens of other students were travelling that night aboard an Easy Coach bus.
The vehicle reportedly overturned at Coptic Roundabout in Kisumu around midnight. However, his family got wind of the tragic incident the following morning.
Joseph Mwadulo was the only student who perished in that accident. 22 other students who were injured were treated and discharged from hospital.
At the time, Kareh B was angry at the school for allowing students to travel at night. However, it appears that a majority of parents were in consensus of the decision.
She also questioned government agencies for allowing night travel for minors.
“Education Minister; who permitted minors to travel at night? Transport and Roads Minister; was the whole traffic Marshall asleep that no one noticed minors travelling at night?
“Are you going to continue being silent and lose more children on the roads, what measures are you putting in place to curb the accidents doing the rounds, especially the young generation,” Kareh B wrote.
The late Joe Mwadulo was scheduled to sit for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination this year. He reportedly hoped to pursue an Aviation course after completing his secondary school studies.
