‘We’re not clout chasers’ – Marya Okoth addresses break-up rumors with YY Comedian

Digital creator Marya Okoth has addressed the swirling rumors surrounding her recent break-up with popular comedian YY (Oliver Otieno).

Following rampant speculation about the reasons behind their split, Okoth took to her social media platforms to clear the air stating emphatically, “We’re not clout chasers,” responding to fans who believed the breakup might be a publicity stunt.

The Breakup Announcement

The couple, who have been in the public eye for some time, amassed a large following on social media due to their content creation and YY’s thriving comedy career.

Their relationship appeared stable, with many fans admiring their chemistry both on and off camera.

However, in recent weeks, rumors began to circulate, hinting that the couple had parted ways.

It was Okoth who first confirmed their split, sparking conversations and mixed reactions from their fans.

While some expressed sympathy and support, others were quick to speculate that the couple was engaging in a trend of using break-ups to gain attention, a tactic seen with some social media influencers.

“We Are Not Doing This for Fame”

Addressing these claims, Marya Okoth made it clear that their breakup was genuine, not a ploy to gain online traction.

In her statement, she explained that their decision to go separate ways was personal and not driven by a need for public validation or increased followers.

“I posted what I posted, I wrote what I wrote. We’re not clout chasers and we’ve never been known as clout chasers.

Him and I, we’re not the type to clout chase anything and we’re not a special couple. Every couple goes through it’s ups and downs,” she said.

Okoth went ahead to clarify that even though YY and her broke up, they’re co-operanting for the well being of their daughter.

“Those who are saying ohh bla bla bla also have ex(s). So it doesn’t make me a bad person or him. We are still good parents to our baby,” she stated.

Fans React

Fans had mixed reactions to the news.

While some showed overwhelming support for the two and encouraged them to focus on their well-being, others questioned the timing of the breakup, particularly considering YY’s rise in the comedy scene.

Some speculated that the breakup was a strategic move to generate buzz around their respective brands.

However, a good portion of their fanbase has chosen to respect their privacy, urging other social media users not to jump to conclusions about the breakup being orchestrated for publicity.

The Road Ahead

As Marya Okoth continues to engage with her fans and create digital content, it remains unclear how this breakup will affect her public persona moving forward.

YY, already a well-established figure in the entertainment industry, will likely continue to focus on his comedy, though questions remain as to how the split will impact their collaborations in the future.

For now, both parties seem determined to keep their personal lives out of the spotlight and focus on their respective careers.

Marya Okoth’s strong stance against the clout-chasing rumors signals her commitment to authenticity in a space where genuine interactions are often doubted.
