Westlands member of parliament (MP) Tim Wanyonyi has been ranked as the best legislator in Kenya by an opinion poll conducted by Politrack Africa.
In the opinion poll results released on Friday, September 29, Tim Wanyonyi was ranked the best MP with a rating of 82.6 percent.
Other best-performing MPs according to the opinion poll are Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro (78.6 percent), Mavoko MP Patrick Makau (78.5 percent), Embakasi MP Babu Owino (78.3 percent ), and Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa (78.3 percent).
This was after most respondents who were interviewed appreciated Tim Wanyonyi for initiating projects such as the construction of roads and improving schools’ infrastructure in the constituency, among other reasons.
“New School Bus and construction of New Classrooms at Kangemi primary school, Construction of Farasi Lane Secondary School chemistry and physics laboratories as well as the renovation of head teacher’s house at Lower Kabete Primary among others,” said the report.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro was ranked second in the performance list because of the Kiharu Masomo Program that he introduced in all Day Secondary Schools in the constituency.

Nyoro also got a higher rating due to his efforts in the construction and rehabilitation of roads and bridges in the area and financing of school infrastructural projects in Kiharu.
“Some of the project mentioned is renovation and tiling of all public primary schools in the constituency and establishment and construction of new secondary schools,” read the report.
On the other hand, Kasarani MP Ronald Karauri was ranked last in the performance list with 50.6 percent.

Other worst-performing MPs included Kuria East MP Maisori Kitayama (51.6 percent), and Chuka Igambang’ombe MP Ntigwa Patrick Munene with 52.0 percent.
However, all 290 constituencies were represented in the survey that was conducted with a sample of 21,169 people being interviewed.
The opinion poll was conducted between August 14 and August 31, 2023.
