“The truth is, we’ve decided to lovingly separate as a couple,” content creator Sharon Mwangi wrote on her Instagram page, in a post she collaborated with his now ex-boyfriend, musician Kagwe Mungai.
Sharon and Kagwe said they did not want their fans to here or read the news elsewhere, because “we know how easily facts can be misconstrued.”
“Our journey together has been extraordinary, filled with deep love and affection. The love we have for each other remains, but it’s taking a beautiful new shape, a chance for each of us to blossom on our own paths,” the couple added.
Despite going their separate ways, Sharon and Kagwe insist that there’s no bad blood between them. “Think of it as two best friends recognizing it’s time for individual space to pursue our most fulfilling lives.”
And since the two had restricted comments on the post announcing their break up, Kenyans trooped to X, formerly Twitter, to air their sentiments.
From the comments the post attracted, it was evident fans held the couple in high regards, and to them, this incredible love journey has just ended in a whimper.
