“What a hypocrite!”: Miguna unfollows Barack Obama after condemning Hamas attacks on Israel

Canada-based Kenyan lawyer Miguna Miguna has unfollowed former US President Barack Obama on X, formerly Twitter, over his stand on the Israel-Palestine conflict.

It all started when Obama Tweeted to condemn the Hamas, accusing the group of executing terrorist attacks on Israel and killing innocent civilians.

But Miguna did not take Obama’s words lightly, accusing him of being a hypocrite.

The outspoken lawyer sees believes that the world is biased against the Hamas and Palestine.

“Can someone show us the bodies of Hamas fighters and caches of weapons Israel claims to be bombing? Can Israel parade Hamas fighters they have arrested? Or they are mostly killing Palestinian children and civilians?” He posed in a different post.

Hamas attack Israel

Hamas, a Palestinian Islamist militant group on Saturday, October 7 launched thousands of rockets into Israel fro the Gaza strip.

The barrage of rockets aimed as far as Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, some bypassing the Israeli’s Iron Dome Defence System and hitting buildings.

At the same tie, Hamas fighters — travelling in ground vehicles, motorised paragliders and boats — breached Gaza’s security barrier and attacked nearby Israeli towns and military posts, opening fire on residents and passersby.

They also took some residents and army officers caught off-guard hostage.

Israel’s retaliation

In retaliation, Israel Defence Forces (IDF) started launching air strikes into what the termed as “Hamas hideouts”.

On Tuesday, October 10, the IDF said that around 1,500 bodies of Hamas militants had been found in Israel and around the Gaza Strip as it pummelled the Palestinian enclave with air strikes.

“Approximately 1,500 bodies of Hamas militants were found in Israel and around the Gaza Strip,” military spokesman Richard Hecht told reporters, adding that security forces had “more or less restored control over the border” with Gaza.
