What Gachagua discussed with lawyers at his Wamunyoro residence

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday, February 8 morning met with a delegation of lawyers at his Wamunyoro residence in Mathira, Nyeri County.

Gachagua hosted the lawyers — drawn from the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), and led by Steve Mbugua — to discuss what he says is “candid discussion about the current state of our nation’s politics”.

“It was a thought-provoking conversation that shed light on their perspectives and offered valuable insights into the complexities of our nation’s governance. They brought with them a broad range of perspectives, from constitutional law to human rights and how collectively we can uphold and promote the fundamental rights and freedom of all people,” Gachagua says.

He added: “It is very clear from the outset that their expertise and collective experience will bring a unique and valuable contribution to our plans as we head forward. The Consultations continue.”

Gachagua was impeached from his position in October 2024 after a fall-out with his boss, President William Ruto. Ever since then, Gachagua has turned out to be Kenya Kwanza Government’s fiercest critic, closing ranks with other opposition politicians like Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, Martha Karua, just to name but a few.

Gachagua has already hinted at unveiling a new political party which will gang up ahead of 2027 General Election, to unseat President Ruto.
