The Kenya wildlife Services (KWS) at the Lake Nakuru National Park together with the Nakuru East Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have denied knowing the whereabouts of Brian Odhiambo.
KWS senior officer David Oyugi and Nakuru East DCI Samuel Ngeinywa appeared at the Nakuru law court for cross examination where they said they did not know where Odhiambo was.
Nakuru law court on Tuesday 28th January ordered the Nakuru East DCI and the senior KWS officer at the park to produce Odhiambo in court dead or alive.
Odhiambo, a fisherman who was allegedly arrested by KWS officers on 18th January never to be seen again.
During his cross examination, Ngeinywa noted that as the officer incharge of the investigations, he recorded statements of 6 witnesses who according to his analysis they were all accusing the KWS.
“I do not know the whereabouts of Brian Odhiambo who disappeared on 18th of January. As the officer in charge I’m undertaking investigations. There were report made at Bondeni Police Station by Odhiambo’s mother and spouse and iam investigating the matter.”
Ngeinywa also revealed that several steps have been taken including sending letters to Safaricom and Airtel for call data.
The investigator told the court that when Odhiambo’s numbers were traced, they were found to have been switched off at 4:07 pm at Karunga towards Gilgil and 1:51pm around State House Nakuru.
