Why I poured hot oil on my husband – woman reveals

A woman from Rivers State in Nigeria has revealed why she poured hot groundnut oil on her husband.

The woman identified as Favour Nweke was arrested by the police for pouring hot oil on her husband, Ekelediri Nwokekoro, before she was taken to Rivers State Command’s headquarters. 

Nweke, who is a housewife had gone into hiding after committing the offense on Tuesday, October 9, but was arrested on Friday October 13 by the police.

She told news reporters in the presence of police officers that she poured hot oil on Ekelediri for not spending enough time with her.

“He leaves the house at about 2 o’clock in the night and will come back early in the morning.” 

“Sometimes he would go, and stay two or three days before coming back,” Nweke said.

She added that her husband had started behaving strangely after he was involved in swindling N20 million from an unknown person. 

“So his friend called me and asked if I knew what my husband was doing.

“He said my husband and some other people were involved in conning money from an unknown person,” she said.

At the same time, she explained that her husband together with his accomplices duped somebody in Abuja over phone that they would help him secure a job in Etche but when the person come, they swindled N20 million from him.

According to her, it was shocking to learn that her husband was involved in conning other people while pretending that he could help them secure jobs. 

When asked whether her husband was involved in extra marital affairs, she defended him and described him as a faithful man.
