The huge traffic snarl-up experienced near the Kijabe area along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway on Monday, December 23 morning was caused by an accident.
National Police Service (NPS) Spokesperson Resila Onyango says there was an accident at Magina area at around 4 am which occasioned the traffic jam.
“Regarding the traffic jam and overlapping near Kijabe that caused traffic stand still this morning, we wish to update the public that there was an accident at Magina area at 4am today which occasioned the snarl up,” Onyango said in a statement.
Onyango, however, affirmed to Kenyans that the highway was now clear.
She noted that weather along the Nairobi-Limuru Highway is misty and foggy with poor visibility, advising motorists to exercise extra caution when driving in the area.
