Renowned Kenyan artist Willy Paul has issued a heartfelt apology to fellow musician Bahati and his wife, Diana Marua, over past actions and statements that caused tension between their families.
In a video shared on his Instagram account, Willy Paul admitted to crossing boundaries and expressed his sincere regret for the pain his actions may have caused.
The singer captioned the video with, “Want Peace, Peace And Love Is What I’m Preaching!” setting the tone for his message of reconciliation.
In his apology, Willy Paul addressed his previous claim of having a romantic relationship with Diana Marua, acknowledging that his words were inappropriate and caused unnecessary misunderstandings.
He wrote, “Looking back on my experiences with my brother, I recognize that I have occasionally crossed boundaries”
“I hold the concept of family, particularly the children, in high regard”
“My actions were never intended to cause harm, but I understand that they were perceived that way, and I sincerely apologize to Diana and the kids for the misunderstanding. Much love.”
Willy Paul also reflected on a song he had released in the past, admitting it was aimed at certain individuals but ultimately hurt Diana Marua and her children.
He noted that while social media feuds might seem entertaining, they often lead to unintended harm.
“Sometimes the games played on social media are too much, and in the end, some people feel attacked and hurt”
“That was never my intention. Misunderstandings happen, and I am genuinely sorry for any pain I caused,” he said in his statement.
The singer expressed a strong desire for reconciliation, calling for the two families to move past their differences and focus on unity.
He suggested they should find time to spend together, especially for the sake of their children.
Meanwhile, fans have lauded Willy Paul for taking the initiative to address the feud publicly and promote peace.
While Bahati and Diana Marua are yet to respond, the gesture has been seen as a positive step towards healing and fostering unity within Kenya’s entertainment scene.
