Police have arrested a woman who is alleged to have killed her husband by stabbing him following a domestic brawl in Makutano, West Pokot County.
The husband, Benjamin Tuko, was a caretaker of a house in the Jua Kali area of Makutano where the incident happened, and the couple had been involved in a bitter exchange.
In the heat of the argument, which has now been pegged on domestic issues, the woman reached for a knife and stabbed Tuko, who was pronounced dead on arrival after being rushed to Kapenguria County Referral Hospital.
According to the police, a bloodstained kitchen knife recovered at the crime scene will be used as an exhibit as the suspect is set to face murder charges in court.

Three weeks ago, police apprehended a 46-year-old man in connection with the brutal killing of his wife in Kericho County.
Belgut Sub-County Police Commander Charles Kibati said the suspect is accused of fatally stabbing his wife during a domestic dispute.
The Kericho man went to revel in a party while the lifeless body of his wife remained in the car parked outside.

According to the police’s account, the man returned home, leading to an argument with the now-deceased. It escalated into a physical altercation.
The woman purportedly grabbed a knife, attempting to harm her husband. In self-defence, he evaded the attack and retaliated, fatally stabbing her.
Following the crime, the man placed her lifeless body in the passenger seat and proceeded to Kapsoit Trading Centre for a drinking spree.
