World Class semi-finals serves ‘tea-time’ with The Singleton

The World Class Kenya competition enters its semi – final stage with the top 16 mixologists going head-to-head to claim 5 slots for the finals. The competition will take place at the Tribe Hotel in Nairobi.

For this year’s semi – finals, the competition shines a spotlight on the power of shared moments. Moving beyond the individual serve, one of the competition challenges will have the  mixologists harness their creativity and design a communal cocktail experience with The Singleton whisky as the foundation. The brief to the competitors demands the creation of a shareable cocktail that is presented as part of a multi – sensory extravaganza.

In keeping with the competition’s traditions, the competitors are encouraged to push the boundaries of flavour and presentation. The shared cocktail is expected to be a masterpiece with visual appeal and offer an elevated luxury experience. This encompasses every detail, from the choice of glassware, to the garnishes and the theatre of the serve. The smooth, rich character of The Singleton provides an exceptional starting pointing for the competitors aiming to craft a complex serve that will help them clinch a spot in the finals.

The competition will feature three judges including Annette Mulama, last year’s national champion, stepping in as a judge for the semi – finals. This confirms the enduring value of the competition in providing a platfrom that allows a trajectory from a competitor to a mentor withing the industry.

The winner of the World Class 2025 edition will represent Kenya in Canada in September 2025 for the global competition.
