The world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve has opened its doors for both domestic and international tourists ahead of Christmas and New Year festivities.
The Chief Park Warden Stephen Minis has assured visitors of high level security as they plan to tour the park with their families.
He said there are over 300 game rangers who are conducting daily patrols within the park to ensure the safety of tourists.
The park warden has however advised tourists to ensure that they follow the laid down park rules and regulations as per the new Management Plan.
He also said the county government has invested heavily in terms of improving the infrastructure within the park to ensure comfort of visitors.
He said the governor Patrick Ntutu who is the Chairman of Tourism at the Council of Governors was keen in ensuring that wildlife were protected from poachers.
He said the park was the home for the “Big Five” and poaching for game trophies was unheard of save for few cases of game meat poachers.
