Recent reports suggest that Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is considering purchasing Liverpool FC, one of the most successful clubs in the English top flight football.

This came out during an interview with Times Radio, wheres Musk’s father, Errol Musk, was asked about his son’s potential interest in acquiring the Premier League giants.

“I cannot comment on that at the moment; they will raise the price,” Errol replied with a chuckle.

Speculation Around Elon Musk and Liverpool

Musk, with an estimated net worth of $425 billion, has made headlines for his high-profile investments and innovations. However, when pressed further, Errol Musk refrained from confirming any concrete negotiations.

“Oh, yes. But that doesn’t mean he’s buying it,” he added. “He would like to, yes, obviously. Anybody would want to so would I!”

Errol also revealed a sentimental connection between the Musk family and Liverpool he stated that Musk’s grandmother was born in Liverpool and their family shares ties with The Beatles music band, having grown up alongside some of the iconic band’s members.

Liverpool’s Legacy and Current Ownership

Liverpool has established itself as a football powerhouse, winning the Premier League in 2020, a year after securing the UEFA Champions League title. The club is currently leading the Premier League standings.

The Fenway Sports Group LLC (FSG), Liverpool’s current owners, have denied any truth to the rumors. A spokesperson told the Associated Press that there is “no truth to these rumors” about a potential sale to Elon Musk.
