“You are the future of UDA,” Hassan Omar tells youth

The future of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is in the youth, this is according to party Secretary-General Hassan Omar.

According to Omar, the ruling party was, and still is, conscience of this fact and that is why they started the UDA Comrades Chapter, a forum that seeks to establish a robust social-political hustler movement to empower and mobilise youth across the country.

The secretary-general urged the youth to join political organisations, so as to be in a position to capture power and be on the negotiating table of the government.

“For you to capture power, you must be in institutions that compete for power, and that manifest in political parties. Sasa hata kama una ari, azma za kuwa kiogozi, if you do not anchor your efforts in political organisations that are established, those that you will establish, your efforts will be in vain,” he said during a UDA Comrades Chapter forum.

He added: “That is why you don’t need to be leaderless, you don’t need to be faceless. Some of you need to emerge as the leaders of those organisations. And the UDA is conscience that the future and present of this country is within the youth.”

He further disclosed that the party will be holding grassroot elections starting January Party elections will proceed from January 2025, and those of you who want to participate should come forward. We will hold free and fair elections so that hata hii kiti ya SG, Treasurer, chariperson zote will be up for grabs.

On his part, UDA National Treasurer Japheth Nyakundi said the party believes in the youth as agents of development and progress, insisting that they must be involved in matters leadership at the party.

“We want you to be part of us. As a party, we will ensure we mentor you as young people of this nation because as a party, we believe you are the leaders of today and tomorrow,” Nyakundi said.
