Belgut member of parliament (MP) Nelson Koech has said it is not possible for someone who has been abducted for 15 days to attend disco immediately after being released.
Speaking during a live interview on Tuesday January 7, 2024, the MP dismissed Cartoonist Kibet’s claims that he attended some disco in Luanda, Vihiga County after being freed by his abductors.
“Cartoonist Kibet Bull claimed that he was dumped in Luanda, Vihiga County. You cannot be released by abductors after 15 days and still attend some disco, it is impossible. And you still look clean and comfortable, someone is playing a game,” said Koech.
The Belgut MP maintained that some politicians in the country were planning the fake abductions to incite citizens against the government.
“How do you go to a disco after being released? How do you look so clean and still have money for a beer and dance with girls?” MP Koech questioned the abduction of cartoonist Kibet.
His remarks emerged after Kibet ‘Bull’ reunited with his family after being released by his alleged abductors.
In a social media post on his X account, the cartoonist said that he was dropped in Luanda Vihiga County on Monday January 6, 2025.
“They dropped me in Luanda Vihiga at 3-4 am today. I did not know where to go or where to book a room,” he said.
“I looked for a place to stay until morning for my own safety because I did not know anyone or the place,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mathira member of parliament (MP) Eric Wamumbi on Monday urged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate alleged fake abductions at Olive Gardens Hotel, linked to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
In a letter to DCI Director, Wamumbi claimed the hotel is being used to stage fake abductions to incite unrest.
“I have information that meetings are being held where youths feign abductions and are held incommundo by the chief architect, Gachagua himself,” said Wamumbi.
