Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has come to the defence of teammate Kai Havertz, stating that anyone who doesn’t like the German midfielder doesn’t understand football.
Havertz, who joined Arsenal in the summer in a £65 million move, has faced challenges adapting to life in North London, often being deployed in various positions by head coach Mikel Arteta.
The 24-year-old’s goal-scoring performance has been under scrutiny, but Jorginho, who left Chelsea for Arsenal six months before Havertz, insists that the German midfielder is often misunderstood.
“If you know football, it’s not possible not to like Kai. For me, he is an unbelievable player, to be honest. I love Kai, and he became a friend, and I always want the best for him as a player,” Jorginho expressed in an interview with the Athletic.
Havertz was one of the Arsenal players on target on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, as they secured a 4-3 comeback win at Luton Town, opening up a five-point gap at the top of the Premier League table.
