How the Zabron singers gained their popularity;

They gained widespread fame with their hit song “Mkono wa Bwana” and “Sweetie Sweetie,” though their journey in gospel music started long before these hits.

“Mkono wa Bwana,” which features popular tracks like “Sweetie Sweetie,” “Nakutuma Wimbo,” “Imenigharimu,” “Nawapenda,” “Nitaweza,” “Sikiachi Tena,” and “Sio Bure,” helped propel the group to stardom, garnering over 45 million views on YouTube.

Other well-loved songs by the group include “Hujanitenga,” “Lushiku,” “Nitasubiri,” and “Mpiga Kinanda.”

The Zabron Singers are more than just a music group—they are a family. Many of the members are related, while others are close family friends.

The lead singers of “Sweetie Sweetie”—Victoria, Jamila, Japheth, and the group’s leader, Joseph—all come from the Zabron family.

Their father, Zabron, who was both a composer and a church leader, instilled in them a deep love for gospel music.

Japheth, who serves as the group’s tutor, shared how their journey began in high school when they recorded a song despite lacking funds.

At that time, the quality of the recording was poor, and they were embarrassed to release it, almost giving up.

However, their determination eventually led to the release of their album “Nawakumbuka” in 2012.

Their perseverance and faith culminated in the success of their album “Mkono wa Bwana,” which became an anthem and even earned them a performance at President William Ruto’s inauguration ceremony.
